Integrity Automotive wants to explain how important it is to “listen” to your car. In this video Chris talks about a BMW 2006 Mini Cooper S. The driver started noticing the car just wasn’t driving as well as previously, and the check engine light turned on so they knew it was time to have it checked out.
The first thing our mechanic did was plug it in and run the code (a free service at Integrity Automotive). The code came up as a faulty “MAP sensor” issue (manifold absolute pressure sensor is used in the internal combustion engine which controls everything from your fuel to your ignition to your transmission). When our mechanic pulled out the MAP sensor he found out that the issue was not with the MAP sensor but instead with the small hose that it attaches to. The sensor hose showed signs of damage and what appeared to be super glue around. Our mechanics best guess is at some point another car repair shop attempted to repair the damage with super glue rather than replace the hose.
