What’s New at Integrity Automotive?

Today Integrity Automotive wanted to give everyone the latest update on Rob’s truck from Ayres Muffler Brake and Alignment. This is the 1969 Ford F-250 that we talked about previously on whether to go with a remanufactured engine or to rebuild the one currently in place. Rob decided to go with a new remanufactured 360ci engine since there really wasn't much benefit from keeping the original in it and it was cheaper since we weren’t doing any upgrades internally to it. We did do some external modifications to it though. We added a new 4 barrel carburetor, got rid of the cast iron intake for a new aluminum one (weight reduction and performance) and a new electronic ignition.

But wait, there’s more...

What’s New at Integrity Automotive?

Today, Integrity Automotive would like to feature a classic truck. This is a 1961 Chevy Corvair Rampside truck. This classic car is different because like the Porsche and the Volkswagen Bug the engine is in the rear of the truck. In fact the Chevy Corvair was the only mass-produced Chevrolet passenger truck/car to use a rear-mounted air-cooled engine.

This unique truck came with two loading options: the Loadside or the Rampside. The Loadside was a traditional pickup truck with a standard tail gate. It was only produced for two years and is very rare. The Rampside Corvair had a side ramp used for loading and unloading as well as the standard tailgate.

Today, Integrity Automotive would like to feature another unique classic car. This is a 1964 Chevy Corvair Monza, this classic car is different because like the Porsche 911 and the Volkswagen Bug the engine is in the rear of the car. In fact, the Chevy Corvair was the only mass-produced passenger car by Chevrolet to use a rear-mounted, air-cooled engine.

This car has been a fun ongoing project for the staff at Integrity Automotive. We restored this car for a nice local Reno couple. The wife had a Chevy Corvair in high school and as a gift for his wife the husband purchased this one for her, and we have been rebuilding it for them ever since. In addition to doing a complete restoration with factory original parts, we have added a few upgrades to make the car safer.

Today Integrity Automotive wanted to feature a truck owned by another great local car shop, Ayres Muffler, Brake and Alignment. This is Rob Ayres grandfather's truck, a 1969 Ford F-250 Camper Special, and he has a very important decision to make that is often very difficult for a lot of classic car owners.

To replace or rebuild…
